Oops! Now this post has a title

After a long and solid night of sleep, Ellen and I enjoyed some yummy oatmeal for breakfast.  McCann's steel-cut is the way to go.  :-)

I wandered around the back yard a bit before we headed out - the landscaping is gorgeous!  Here's the view from the back porch:

And from the far end of the yard:
Some of my favorite highlights . . .
The pig:

The musician:

The rattler:

The fountain:

The skull:

And my photography assistant, Callie:
Our first adventure was to the Farmer's Market, where we tasted some very yummy soup, bread, cheese, balsamic vinegar and tea (the last two were too good to pass up purchasing, too).  Callie even got some yummy dog biscuits in both peanut butter and pumpkin flavor - she was a fan of both.  Having her fill of food and fun, we took Callie home, then grabbed some very tasty lunch of gyro salad and hummus.

Next we strolled through a very classy craft fair - lots of beautiful things, but nothing that either of us couldn't live without.  ;-)

We then caught an estate sale (interesting to see, but our only purchase was a glasses case for $.25 - I didn't have one for my sunglasses, which I suddenly found mysef needing to carry with me).

Next up was a trip to Stein Mart.  Oh my - I'm not sure if I should thank my aunt or blame her.  ;-)
Seriously, though - it was a great place to shop and I'm glad we went - I'd definitely go again - hopefully when I have a bottomless bank account, too.  :-D

We headed back home, where we were able to catch the last few minutes of this incredible sunset:

And here we are - the triumphant shoppers:
Now we're sitting down to a tasty dinner of wonton soup and tempura shrimp, to be followed by relaxing by the fire pit in the backyard.  Life is good!

  1. I LOVE the pig!
I wish we had Stein Marts here.
Fire pits in the back yard are really cool.
I think Southwestern sunsets are/can be the prettiest sunsets anywhere. All those purple and pinks. =) norma
